You need to see...

This is definitely the best movie i've seen in a long time. If you're into foreign films, I highly recommend it. Its basically a rags to riches love story but it has a lot of action and its really intense. I can't stop thinking about it and i'll probably buy it when it comes out. Ahh i love good movies....

Fall semester thus far

My best friend Zack from Texas came to visit me a couple weeks ago so we could work on our album and set everything in stone. We ended up recording a new song, too so that was exciting.

These are some of the pictures Zack and I took for our new album. It should be ready pretty soon, its just really a matter of getting some money together haha. We ended up just using a polaroid camera to take all our pictures because it looks way sweeter and it was more fun. Polaroid film is SUPER expensive, though...like $15 for ten polaroids...so each picture was precious.

This is Lauren, me, Linh, and Sarah on Sarah's Birthday. I took her out to Spark(where Linh works) and it is a really cool place, but pretty expensive. We were all starving and didn't know that you don't really go to Spark to get filled up because you pay $30 for a dish that consists of literally 2 bites. It was really fun, though because they have a bunch of nice "cocktail" drinks so all night we felt like we were on the TV show 'The Hills'. Sarah loves that Show.
DAN CUT! This is probably my favorite person in the world. He left on his mission about a week after we took this picture and he has been in the MTC for a couple of weeks now. He came to Provo to visit all his friends before he left and fortunately I got to steal him for a majority of the time. I even convinced him to see High School Musical 3 with me( even though he kept making comments throughout the movie like, " I wonder if Zack Effron shaves his arms"). We had a ton of fun while he was here and i wish he didnt have to leave, but i guess a mission is kind of important.
James Bond group date to the midnight showing. We told the boys to dress like James Bond and we attempted to dress like Bond girls....but..we miserably failed haha. Sarah kind of looks like Vespa from Casino Royal and my date looks like he's "going to a dressy fireside." We had a lot of fun and the movie was pretty good. I had a few tiffs with it but it was entertaining. I think my hopes were a little too high.

Hahaha this is my neighbor Emily and I on Halloween. We dressed up like Chongas together, and for those of you who don't know what a Chonga is here's the definition...."A girl of Hispanic origin, usually between the ages of 12 and 19. Primarily found in Miami, a chonga will usually have their hair in a half bun half down style, super tight brazillian pants, black liner on their lips and eyes, and pencil thin triangular shaped darkend eyebrows." It was probably the best costume i've ever had. NOBODY recognized me, not even my FHE brothers. They came over when i was getting ready and after i had chatted with them for about 20 minutes they said..."So have we met you before?Whats your name." I thought they were joking, but they honestly had no idea who i was that entire time! I think it was the eyebrows.
This is my dad and I at conference. He and my step-mom Teri came for the weekend and it was really good to see them. They have been training crazy hard for this huge marathon they're running and my dad looked SO different because he had lost a lot of weight. It was crazy. I hope when im 55 I can run 20 miles a day.....holy crap.
Here is me and my folk band 'The Lucky Crickets' performing at a barn dance. I look super gay, but it was our first gig and I think we did really well considering we had practiced like two times beforehand. Folk ensemble this year is really exciting because our group is the first of its kind. We are kind of a songwriting/vocal group and the instruments are really secondary. We get to write our own songs together and we're even performing at Christmas Around the World this year at BYU so those of you who are in Provo should come!

Here's another picture from when Zack was here visiting from California where he goes to recording school. We did a lot of fun things and I attempted to show him around Provo and not bore him to death. This is us hiking the Y on Saturday.

The day he came he showed up at my house at like 8 in the morning and i was asleep so he was freezing out in the cold knocking on my door helplessly. It was really funny, and then i had to go to class and he had been driving all night so he fell asleep on my couch. The bad part is i conveniently forgot to tell my roommates he was even coming so one of my roommates came home and got really freaked out because she thought there was a homeless man sleeping on our couch (notice his unkempt beard). She went into her room, locked the door, and called our FHE brothers because she thought she was gonna get kileld! haha. I felt kinda bad, but it was hilarious.

While he was here we went to the farmers market, hiked the Y, went to a lot of thrift stores/pawn shops looking for good movies and weird instruments, and just skated around Provo (I biked most of the time because my longboard is SUPER slow. I think i need to change my wheels or something). All in all it was really fun to have him visit me. It was weird for two of my many worlds to collide. He definitely didn't fit in with the prestine mormon scene...he got a lot of stares walking around campus with his giant beard.
